EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE SYSTEM (EIS) – PERKESO
APPLICATION OF RM600 FOR EMPLOYMENT RETENTION PROGRAMME (ERP)
Attached is a self-explanatory letter from PERKESO to explain to employers about the RM600 per employee application fee per month (for a maximum of 6 months) to assist employees who are required to take unpaid leave under the Employment Retention Program (ERP) – Economic Stimulus Package 2020 (PRE2020).
The ERP was established to assist employers to reduce their cost burdens as a result of the impact of the COVID 19. The Programme is effective 1 March 2020 until a date to be determined by the Government later.
ERP provides an immediate financial assistance up to RM600 per month to employers for each worker that is required to cease his/her job without any pay due to the COVID 19 impact. The financial assistance is supported by EIS and is only applicable to workers with monthly salary below RM4,000 per month.
Applications will be opened from 20 March 2020 onwards. Employers are required to debit the amount into the employees’ account within seven (7) days upon receiving the same from PERKESO. The period of assistance provided is up to a maximum of 6 months.
