Standards Development Promotional Booth (Penang)

MPMA is collaborating with the Department of Skills Development (DSD) to offer the Recognition of Prior Achievement Programme to MPMA members. The Seminar will be held on the 28 September 2017 at the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC). The half day seminar aims to create an awareness on evaluating and certifying the current workforce in the plastics industries based on their working experience.

Standards Development Workshop for Technical Committee (TC/J/1 to TC/J/5)

MPMA organised a Workshop on Standards Development for Technical Committees (TC/J/1 to TC/J/5) on 27 August 2015 at Best Western Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The main objectives of the workshop were:

  • To harmonise the ISO and MS for the Malaysian plastics industry.
  • To identify the needs and documenting of indigenous MS.
  • To enhance the participation of the Malaysian plastics manufacturers in the activities of national and international standardisation activities in ISO TC 61 on Plastics.
  • To identify strategies to promote the usage of MS to the industry.

The workshop was also held to update members on MPMA’s activities as a SDA as well as nomination of participation in international meetings. A total of 14 TC members and representatives from Standards Malaysia attended the Workshop.

Seminar on Standards Development

MPMA is organising a seminar on “Enhancing Global Competitiveness Through Standards Introducing: MS 1905:2006 and MS 1405:2008’ in Kuala Lumpur, Penang & Johor Bahru

MPMA organised a seminar on “Malaysian Standards – Value Creation for The Plastics Industry” in MPMA Head Office, MPMA Northern Branch and MPMA Johor Branch:

The speakers for the three events were Tn Hj Ahmad Khairuddin, Chairman, ISC-J & Pn Nor Azina Yahaya. MPMA  Secretariat also presented on the Updates on MPMA’s Standards Writing Activities. The main objective of these seminars was to explain the benefits of standards to organisation, members and the industry.
