AMOS TAY joined Borouge in 2012 and held roles in product ownership and technical services prior to his current appointment as an Application Development Engineer for the company’s Infrastructure business. He has spent over 25 years in the petrochemicals industry in various roles spanning QC, R&D, raw material manufacturing, product development, safety and compliance management systems. He holds a Master of Science in Polymer Technology from Loughborough University in the UK.

SAMUEL YAP is currently the Technical Manager for Milliken Chemical for the polymer additives business covering Southeast Asia, South Asia and Oceania. Prior professional experience includes polyolefin producers such as Lotte Titan, ExxonMobil Chemicals and SABIC before joining Milliken Chemical in 2017. Samuel has more than 16 years in the polyolefin industry, primarily in market-facing technical roles. Samuel earned his B Eng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Technology Malaysia in 2002. He graduated in 2006 with an MSc in Polymer Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. His master’s dissertation was on post-metallocene catalysis for novel polypropylenes.

ERIC CHIA joined Toray Plastics (Malaysia) in September 2015. He specialises in the development of ABS grades, including grade development/mass production and quality control. He is also an expert in studying and scaling up a plan for the new product from laboratory scale to plant scale. His expertise also lies in ABS plastics colouring technology and customised unique colours according to customer requests. Eric earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Materials) from University Malaya (UM).

EDDIE FONG has been in the plastics industry for 41 years. His forte is in injection moulding and related technologies. He is currently the Managing Director of an SME manufacturer named Plasform Sdn Bhd. Plasform is an SME company engaged mainly in the parts and components manufacture and offers tailored plastics engineering solutions to its customers in the E&E, industrial, automotive and special applications sectors. It is mainly engaged in injection moulding and related production processes. He is also the Secretary-General of the MPMA and Chairman of the MPMA Human Resource Development Committee.

SACHIN FULSUNDAR is a Technical Solution Manager specialising in Autodesk Simulation Portfolio. He involved himself in product development, processing and mould design industries as well as simulation and CAD. At Autodesk, he worked with various manufacturing solutions including Fusion 360 and has been involved with Autodesk Moldflow products for over 20 years.

LIM WEI YEN brings 14 years of experience in additives manufacturing. She joined ARBURG in January, 2015 till present as the Manager for Additive Manufacturing handling all requests with regards to the free former in the APAC region. Formerly, she has been a Service Engineer in the Medical and Industrial Laser industry in the ASEAN region.

DR YASUNOBU SATO is the Marketing Manager, Transportation APAC for Solvay Specialty Polymers Japan K.K. Prior to this, he was the Sales Development Manager and before that the Research Scientist/Engineer. He obtained his Doctorate from Keio University in 2004 under Prof Haruma Kawaguchi (Lab. of Polymer Chemistry).

ALVIN ANG is the Executive Director of Thong Guan Industries (TGI) Berhad since 11 December 2013. He was instrumental in planning the listing of TGI on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and has contributed immensely to the growth of TGI especially in the fields of finance, taxation, project planning and implementation, information technology, operations and marketing.

FRANCESCO SILVERA currently is the Sales Area Manager for Colines S.P.A. He was with Colines S.P.A. since 2018. Dr ING CHRISTOPH LETTOWSKY is the Senior Product Manager at Reifenhauser Blown Film. He started as a Scientific Engineer and Project Manager in November 2000. He was the head of the injection moulding department from June 2005 to March 2008. In April 2008, he joined the former Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, Worms, Germany, where he worked as an Assistant to Management. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany and later he joined the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Aachen.

DANIELLE LEE is the Dow Asia Pacific Application Development Leader. She has more than 15 years of experience in the technical field and collaborates with regional customers to develop and improve their flexible packaging in applications such as industrial, food and hygiene.

JASON YEW with more than 6 years in the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business in Dow has developed a keen understanding of flexible packaging industry and the market dynamics in South East Asia. His primary focus is in the development of food packaging technology and accelerating the shift towards a more sustainable packaging ecosystem.

MARCEL BUDDE is the Regional Manager Technical Sales for WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER (W&H) KG. After studying plastics processing for more than five years, Marcel helped many of the W&H customers to find the right blown film equipment for their products. TROY MUIR is Senior Staff Engineer for ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific, from 2001 to present. Before this, Troy was with Titan (M) Sdn Bhd, JG Summit Petrochemical, ICI Australia Education. Mr Muir holds a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Chemistry (UNSW, Sydney) New South Wales, and a MSc Degree in Polymer Science (UNSW, Sydney).

DR CHIONG MENG SOON is a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2017. His recent research focuses on Life Cycle Assessment to assist industries in assessing their environmental load and impacts towards carbon neutrality and circular economy. He has been working closely with The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan on developing LCI datasets for various Malaysian industries, including the plastics industry.

She is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) at IOI Corporation Berhad, a public listed company. She is an ESG advocate and recently completed The Oxford University’s Leading Sustainable Corporations Programme at the Said Business School. She held the position of Director, Product Development and Advisory Services at the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and subsequently as Minister in the Embassy of Malaysia to Belgium and Mission to the European Union.
