DATUK LIM KOK BOON is the President of MPMA and has served as the President since 2006. He had also served as the Vice-President from 2004 – 2006 before assuming the Presidency. Datuk Lim by profession is an Accountant, and is a retired fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, United Kingdom and retired as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

His role involves Industry 4.0 strategic deployment advisor at well-known public listed companies in Hong Kong.

MUHAMED ALI HAJAH is Chief Executive Officer of the Penang Skills Development Centre, the first tripartite, industry-led skills and Education Centre in Malaysia with over 233 industry members. Muhamed has broad experience in various industry from the Electrical and Electronics manufacturing, Telecommunication, Information Communication Technology, Corporate Strategy and Corporate Finance.

NG KHENG JOO is the Technical Director and co-founder of Novetec Innovation Sdn Bhd. Novetec is a Malaysian registered company specialising in the design, development and supply of automated systems and solutions for the manufacturing industry; including automated systems using collaborative robots.

PLASTICS FOR END PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

MODERATOR
DR FAHMI is a Senior Lecturer with University Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL) and has served in various capacities at UNIKL since 2002. Dr Fahmi has a PhD in Chemical Engineering for Polymer; a Masters of Engineering in Chemical for Polymers and a Bachelors of Technology in Industry for Polymers.

AMOS TAY joined Borouge in 2012 and held roles in product ownership and technical services prior to his current appointment as an Application Development Engineer for the company’s Infrastructure business. He has spent over 25 years in the petrochemicals industry in various roles spanning QC, R&D, raw material manufacturing, product development, safety and compliance management systems. He holds a Master of Science in Polymer Technology from Loughborough University in the UK.

SAMUEL YAP is currently the Technical Manager for Milliken Chemical for the polymer additives business covering Southeast Asia, South Asia and Oceania. Prior professional experience includes polyolefin producers such as Lotte Titan, ExxonMobil Chemicals and SABIC before joining Milliken Chemical in 2017. Samuel has more than 16 years in the polyolefin industry, primarily in market-facing technical roles. Samuel earned his B Eng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Technology Malaysia in 2002. He graduated in 2006 with an MSc in Polymer Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. His master’s dissertation was on post-metallocene catalysis for novel polypropylenes.

ERIC CHIA joined Toray Plastics (Malaysia) in September 2015. He specialises in the development of ABS grades, including grade development/mass production and quality control. He is also an expert in studying and scaling up a plan for the new product from laboratory scale to plant scale. His expertise also lies in ABS plastics colouring technology and customised unique colours according to customer requests. Eric earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Materials) from University Malaya (UM).

NAZRI MUHAMAD is currently as Senior Operation Manager for the newly establishment of Syndiotactic Polystyrene (SPS) Plant at IDEMITSU Pasir Gudang Complex, Johor which expected to be commercialized from Q4, 2022 onward. He has work experience of 15 years in various fields and industries at multinational companies in chemical processing plant, project management and business development. He graduated Mechanical Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan.

DESIGN RULES FOR OPTIMISING INJECTION MOULDED PLASTICS PARTS

EDDIE FONG has been in the plastics industry for 41 years. His forte is in injection moulding and related technologies. He is currently the Managing Director of an SME manufacturer named Plasform Sdn Bhd. Plasform is an SME company engaged mainly in the parts and components manufacture and offers tailored plastics engineering solutions to its customers in the E&E, industrial, automotive and special applications sectors. It is mainly engaged in injection moulding and related production processes. He is also the Secretary-General of the MPMA and Chairman of the MPMA Human Resource Development Committee.

SACHIN FULSUNDAR is a Technical Solution Manager specialising in Autodesk Simulation Portfolio. He involved himself in product development, processing and mould design industries as well as simulation and CAD. At Autodesk, he worked with various manufacturing solutions including Fusion 360 and has been involved with Autodesk Moldflow products for over 20 years.

LIM WEI YEN brings 14 years of experience in additives manufacturing. She joined ARBURG in January, 2015 till present as the Manager for Additive Manufacturing handling all requests with regards to the free former in the APAC region. Formerly, she has been a Service Engineer in the Medical and Industrial Laser industry in the ASEAN region.

DR YASUNOBU SATO is the Marketing Manager, Transportation APAC for Solvay Specialty Polymers Japan K.K. Prior to this, he was the Sales Development Manager and before that the Research Scientist/Engineer. He obtained his Doctorate from Keio University in 2004 under Prof Haruma Kawaguchi (Lab. of Polymer Chemistry).

ALVIN ANG is the Executive Director of Thong Guan Industries (TGI) Berhad since 11 December 2013. He was instrumental in planning the listing of TGI on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and has contributed immensely to the growth of TGI especially in the fields of finance, taxation, project planning and implementation, information technology, operations and marketing.

FRANCESCO SILVERA currently is the Sales Area Manager for Colines S.P.A. He was with Colines S.P.A. since 2018. His Educational background hails from Polytechnic University of Turin where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Management Engineering – Innovation and Product Development and his Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering.

GOVINDJIT SINGH GILL has been with Nordmeccanica since 2019. Govindjit is currently the Sales Manager in charge of the Asia Pacific market. He has obtained his Master of Science, Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy.

Dr ING CHRISTOPH LETTOWSKY is the Senior Product Manager at Reifenhauser Blown Film. He started as a Scientific Engineer and Project Manager in November 2000. He was the head of the injection moulding department from June 2005 to March 2008. In April 2008, he joined the former Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, Worms, Germany, where he worked as an Assistant to Management. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany and later he joined the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Aachen.

KHEMRATSANEE V. is the Sales Manager, Asia Pacific for BOBST. She has 13 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry and prior to joining BOBST, she was with Rieckermann Thailand. Khemratsanee V. has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Printing and Packaging Technology, from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.

MARKUS PYRLIK is the Regional Manager, Technical Sales for WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER (W&H). He started his career with W&H in 2014 with the department of cast film extrusion, where he was responsible for the South East Asian, Indian Subcontinent and African markets. He studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen), Germany.

DR CHUA WEN-SHYAN is currently the Head of Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 under the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC). His key area of expertise lies mainly in the area of Control and Automation Systems, Fault Detection and Identification (FDI), and Predictive Maintenance Strategies; which are widely used in Industry 4.0 applications. He is also appointed by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) in collaboration with the Machinery and Equipment Productivity Nexus (MEPN) as one of the mentors (advisors) for the PRODUCTIVITY1010 initiative to support the industries in their journey towards digital transformation.

STEVEN LIEW is the Account Manager of CIMATION (M) Sdn Bhd. CIMATION (M) Sdn Bhd was established in year 1996 and specialises in developing systems for industry 4.0, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Automation System, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Automated Line Control (ALC), etc. He was involved in the designs and development of MES. He was also involved in the designs and development on the control application for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) for aerospace components manufacturing plant.

DANIEL HÄGGMARK is a senior leader with more than a decade of regional experience, Daniel leads the development and expansion into new markets for Monitor in Southeast Asia. He spearheads business growth and strengthens Monitor’s partnership with customers that puts their needs and wants at the center of a digital transformation strategy. BACON CH’NG is the Executive Director of THM Plastic Industries Sdn. Bhd. and has been with THM for 13 years. His principal role in THM is overseeing the management of THM’s operations. Mr Ch’ng graduated from US Northwood University in International Business. He has been a Committee Member of the MPMA Northern Branch since 2012 and the Branch Secretary General since 2016.

LUKASZ MYSZKOWSKI is the Technology Sales Manager for Asia Pacific BOBST. He manages the regional sales for Vacuum Metallising and Coating portfolio. He is the business development and marketing for Sustainable Flexible Packaging across product lines. He has seven years of experience specialising in the Food and Beverage Packaging Industry. Before Bobst, he was working for Sidel under Tetra Laval Group. He graduated from the University College of London with Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering.

DANIELLE LEE is the Dow Asia Pacific Application Development Leader. She has more than 15 years of experience in the technical field and collaborates with regional customers to develop and improve their flexible packaging in applications such as industrial, food and hygiene.

JASON YEW with more than 6 years in the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business in Dow has developed a keen understanding of flexible packaging industry and the market dynamics in South East Asia. His primary focus is in the development of food packaging technology and accelerating the shift towards a more sustainable packaging ecosystem.

MARCEL BUDDE is the Regional Manager Technical Sales for WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER (W&H) KG. After studying plastics processing for more than five years, Marcel helped many of the W&H customers to find the right blown film equipment for their products. He graduated with Masters of Science (Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration Specialised in Plastics Processing).

TROY MUIR is Senior Staff Engineer for ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific, from 2001 to present. Before this, Troy was with Titan (M) Sdn Bhd, JG Summit Petrochemical, ICI Australia Education. Mr Muir holds a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Chemistry (UNSW, Sydney) New South Wales, and a MSc Degree in Polymer Science (UNSW, Sydney).

KANYANUT NARKCHAMNAN is a Researcher with Thai Polyethylene Co Ltd (SCG Chemicals). Ms Kanyanut has spent the last 10 years working on material science Research & Development (R&D) for Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), focusing on extrusion coating & lamination. Before that, she spent four years working on material science R&D for High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), concentrating on Bi-stretching applications and full PE solutions. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering at Kasetsart University.

WEE CHING YUN is the Treasurer of MPMA and the Chairman of MPMA’s Sustainability Sub-Committee. She is also the Managing Director of Chong Wah Plastics Sdn Bhd. Ching Yun is a strong advocate on plastics and its sustainability and has spoken on numerous prestigious platforms. With more than 30 years of working experience in the flexible packaging industry, she has supported her company and customers through various packaging evolutions.

ARNOLD WANG is responsible for the Plastics Program for Ellen MacArthur Foundation in China. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Secretary-General of China Plastics Reuse and Recycling Association. Before joining the association, he held several positions in the marketing and product management function in international companies, including: Rohm and Haas, Borouge, Specialty Tapes Company and the garbage collection system company, Envac.

DATO’ JANA SANTHIRAN A/L MUNIAYAN is the Deputy Secretary-General (Environment) for Ministry of Environment and Water Malaysia. Dato’ Jana has been attached to the Government for more than 25 years. He had served in numerous Ministries including Ministry of Education, Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Finance. ​Dato’ Jana holds a Master in Management and a Bachelor of Art from University of Malaya.

DR CHIONG MENG SOON is a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2017. His recent research focuses on Life Cycle Assessment to assist industries in assessing their environmental load and impacts towards carbon neutrality and circular economy. He has been working closely with The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan on developing LCI datasets for various Malaysian industries, including the plastics industry.

DR KALANITHI NESARETNAM is co-founder of Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM) which is the country chapter of the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative. She is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) at IOI Corporation Berhad, a public listed company. She is an ESG advocate and recently completed The Oxford University’s Leading Sustainable Corporations Programme at the Said Business School. She held the position of Director, Product Development and Advisory Services at the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and subsequently as Minister in the Embassy of Malaysia to Belgium and Mission to the European Union.

CC CHEAH is the Vice-President of MPMA since 2014. He is also the Chairman for the MPMA Plastics Technology Roadmap 2016-2025 and the Chairman of MPMA Recyclers Sub-Committee. Mr Cheah is the Deputy Managing Director of See Hau Global Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer of plastic pallets in Malaysia. Mr Cheah has a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, USA.

DANIELLE LEE is the Dow Asia Pacific Application Development Leader. She has more than 15 years of experience in the technical field and collaborates with regional customers to develop and improve their flexible packaging in applications such as industrial, food and hygiene.

HUANGYI CHEN is the End Use and Market Development Manager SEA ANZ for DOW Chemical. She has more than 6 years of experience in Dow working with end users and brand owners in diverse industries spanning from F&B, Industrial and Hygiene applications. Huangyi is a regular keynote speaker in conferences around the region for DOW CHEMICAL.

Pedro Oliveira is the Business Manager, PET Systems, for HUSKY Injection Molding Systems. He joined Husky in 2007 and since that time has held a variety of positions throughout the organisation in the areas of sales support, factory planning and business development. He holds a degree of Materials Engineering from Universidade do Porto – Portugal.

RAIMON WONG has found his passion in the drive towards circular economy. Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen GmbH (NGR) has allowed him to pursue this passion by guiding businesses ranging from up-and-coming plastics producers and recyclers to large conglomerates and brand owners on solutions towards recycling their waste. He is currently Managing Director of the NGR subsidiary in Malaysia providing solutions to the South-East Asian Markets.

JAYCEE LIM is the Application Marketing Manager for Rigid Packaging in Borouge. Based in Singapore, Jaycee is responsible for driving future profitable growth and enhancing the sustainability impact of Borouge’s Packaging business and steering it towards the next generation of value creating solutions.

ANIVESH TEWARI is the Head of Operations, PET Recycling Business Asia for Indorama Ventures PCL. He has 36 years of experience in polyester manufacturing with 8 years in PET recycling. He has a Bachelor of Textiles with specialization in man made fibers.
